Grown on game birds offer a complete meal and are a more natural food for ground dwelling snakes like pythons, king snakes etc. Especially good are the ground nesting birds like quail and pheasants as these reptiles would easily 'catch' them in the wild.

Frozen birds are good for adding variety to a reptiles diet but day old chicks should not be fed exclusively as they do not offer the same nutrient value as something more grown on.
 
Pheasant chicks or Pheasant poults are also a great natural food for the discerning cat owner and offer more natural nutrition than found in any tin!
